What is Backlink? Why Backlink is important?

If you are you are a blogger or familiar with seo, you certainly heard the word back link lots of time, right? Most of the people know about this term Backlink. But there are still some people who don’t know what exactly mean by Backlink? If you are totally newbie on seo, you may also want to know about Backlink. Backlink is very essential factor in seo so you should know about Backlink. So today I am writing this post to help those people who wants to know what is Backlink and why back link is important i mean the importance of Backlink  

What is Backlink?
Backlink is a link which you get from another website or blog and that link directed towards your site or blog. Backlink is also know as inbound links. Suppose you have a blog on make money blogging now you are writing a post on it and then you recommend your reader to read johnchow.com with a link. Here johnchow.com has got a Backlink from your blog. Backlink may be one way or reciprocal. Suppose you give a link to a blog B, if B give a link back to you too then it will be a reciprocal Backlink. If B doesn’t link back to your blog, it will be one way link for blog B. Google gives more value on one way Backlink.

Why Backlink is important?
Backlink is the main factor for seo like google page rank. Search engine like google count Backlink seriously for its rank. Backlink determine the popularity of any website or blog. The more you have Backlink, the more credit your blog will get from search engine like google. But google don’t count all Backlink. Google just give credit to the quality Backlink. Google shows search results by calculating the relevancy of a keywords and the quality incoming back link to this site.

As I said google don’t give same value to all link, google just give value to quality Backlink. So here is another term quality Backlink. Search engine always consider content of that site to determine the quality of link. If you get an incoming link from a site which content is very relevant to your site, that link will be a quality link. The higher the relevancy of incoming links, the higher their quality. Another thing should consider that is anchor text. Google bots consider the anchor text to evaluate the relevancy of it to the content of the page. Suppose you have a blog on football, you got a link from another blog on football and 10 links from a blog on food. Here that one link which you got from another blog about football is much much valuable to google than other 10 links. So you can see quality is all, not quantity in case of back link. And if you get incoming links from a site which is bad in google’s eyes, it may have a negative impact on your site.

So you can see how important is quality Backlink for a blog. But there are many people who become crazy to get Backlinks and got them involved in different method like link exchange.
