How to use custom domain in blogger blog?

Blogger is a great place to start your blogging journey. As a new blogger your must love blogger since it’s totally free and you don’t have to be html and css expert to make a blog. You just have to have minimum browsing knowledge. Ok I am not going to describe the advantage of blogger. Now you have got your own blog at blogger and your blog URL is some thing like

                         yourblogname.blogspot.com

Look at that URL is it looking professional? No, that URL is not looking good and even very hard to remember and to tell to other. Now think if you are more serious on blogging, then will you like to see a long sub domain? I am sure you don’t want that URL. So you should buy at least a domain and it is very cheap now a days. And no need to spend any money to buy a host google will host your blog totally free as before. This is the main advantage. Ok now let’s see how you can easily setup a custom domain.
I think you already have got a own domain if you don’t have you may get one for free from co.cc. But I don’t recommend that since it’s only for 1 year and they may charge you after that. If you want to earn by blog then you must use at least own domain

Ok let’s briefly see what you may need to do

Creating CNAME,
Creating A record
and finally changing the blogger settings

Step1. Creating CNAME:
Login to your domain account and then you will find something like DNS or DNS manage etc. Mind it that different domain provider have different settings look so try to match it ok Then click on manage DNS and you will see CNAME record click on that and then add CNAME or add new record or something like this. Then in place of name/host name write www and in place of Value/target host write ghs.google.com
That means

www
ghs.google.com

This two will be used to create CNAME,
Now you are complete but now the people who will write www.yourdomain.com only can see you. So if you want to redirect your blog from yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com then you have to create four A record. If you use the following service then click to see step by step instruction from blogger,

Step2. Creating A record: Now from where you got cname ther you can see a record too. Now click on A record four times using those ip
216.239.32.21
216.239.34.21
216.239.36.21
216.239.38.21
In Destination IPv4 Address or something similar
Now you are done

Step 3 changing blogging setting: Now login your blogger account and click on settings from dashboard. And now click on publishing then click on custom domain and then click on switch to advanced settings then you will see a box and enter your full URL here like www.yourdomain.com. Don’t forget to use www here. Then type the verification word and click on save settings at the bottom.

Then you will go a new page and click on the check box “Redirect yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com” and type verification work once again and save setting. You are done

But mind it that new domain may take up to 48 hours to be active so please be patient and wait.

While the effect of hovering the AdSense unit on that blog is very interesting and could be achieved I'm not sure if it is within the AdSense T.O.S.I don't know if you realise how strict AdSense are and how quickly they can close accounts with little explanation.I will try to find out if it is allowed and if so i will defiantly cover it in a post..

Great post. I was thinking of trying out Blogspot. I hate blogspot because of its long domain name. Custom domain name is helpful.
