You may already heard that google will consider site speed in there search ranking. Yes site speed has been added in google’s search ranking algorithms. Oh you may think what site speed is. Ok site speed is your sites load time I mean it reflects how early a site responds to user requested. The less time a site takes to be loaded, the better.
So you can see speeding a site is very important for both of webmaster and site user. In an internal studies google has shown, ‘’ when a site responds slowly, visitor spend less time there”. People like to use those site which takes less time to be loaded. Fast site also reduce data cost of internet user. That’s another reason to be liked faster site by users. So you can see internet users give a lot of value in speed. And google always try to make their user happy. That’s why google is now considering site speed to determine search ranking. Google use lots of source to determine speed of a site over another site. This concept is still very new to google so currently only less than 1 % of search result is being affected by site speed. But in near future this percentage will be increased. So this is time to think about it.
Here are some free tools that google suggested evaluating the speed of your site:
Page speed: It’s an open source firefox add-ons to evaluate site speed. It also gives suggestion to improve it.
iwebtool: this is a great tool to check site speed
Yslow: It is also a free tool from yahoo.
Webpagetest: It shows sites load performance
You can check site speed from your webmaster tools from Labs—->site performance. you may read a post from official google webmaster blog on site performance
So I recommend all of you to check your site speed. If its ok then fine but if it is not ok then you should try to improve it not only for google but also to help your users.
