Well, I am happy to announce officially that earnbyblog is now on wordpress! Yes finally I have moved on wordpress from blogger. And I must thank my friend eunus for his support for all of the process. It couldn’t be possible without his help. He has got huge knowledge on wordpress he helped me to move and customize my genesis theme.
So why I moved to wordpress: Actually I won’t say that I was so unhappy with blogger since I was using top level domain and customized theme with my blogger blog. Honestly said I was no intention to move on wordpress. But one day I got a mail from blogger that my blog was marked as spam and they removed my blog. I was very shocked. I knew that blogger do like that so I always tried to follow their terms and conditions. But I had no idea what’s wrong with my blog. They marked my blog as spam anyway. Luckily I had a back up for my blog (though I lost 6-7 posts) to reopen my blog. But I tried to contact blogger support to resolve my issue. So I didn’t reopen my blog even though I had a back ups. I was waiting for blogger supports. But after 10 days nothing was happened.
And my friend convinced me to move wordpress. Actually I was bit afraid that if I can’t handle wordpress but finally I decided to move wordpress anyway.
My tools on wordpress: I thought that if move to wordpress I will make my blog even more professional and that is why I am using best staff for my blog out there.
- Hosting: I am using hostgator for my blog hosting.
- Theme: I am using genesis framework by copyblogger media for my blog.
I was in bit confusion whether I should go for Thesis or genesis. But finally I went for genesis and I am happy with this.
My feelings on wordpress after moving from blogger: If I can say it in one sentence I would say using blogger was something like living in a small pound and using wordpress is like living in a sea. Now I have got total control over my blog. And you (blogger user) never ever can imagine what you are missing unless you move to wordpress. Now it seems to me that one of the big mistakes of my blogging life was not choosing wordpress as my CMS. Yes that’s true. Believe me.
So my advice who is going to make a blog: Of course choose wordpress as your CMS if you have the budget to spend for hosting.
